MARSOC recruits from throughout the Marine Corps. The same attributes that make you a good Marine and a determined individual are the same attributes that make you successful as an operator. Mission sets change and the battlefield changes, but the core individual doesn't change. We seek these individuals in the Marine Corps and we're not worried about your previous job. The diversity this adds to a team serves to increase its problem solving and lethality. We demand a lot from our Marines. Every day you need to be different and better and growing. If you have what it takes, come and take your place alongside us.
Mastering the fundamentals of defensive driving and precision shooting in close quarters enhances the overall effectiveness of the individual operator and team. Dynamic and realistic training prepares them to operate in austere, and often, volatile environments.
Amphibious training provides Marine Raiders with specialized skills needed to operate in diverse environments. During Phase 1 of the Individual Training Course, students learn to operate, navigate, and build the small watercraft known as the zodiac. They are continously evaluated, mentally and physically tested, and must perform a 2k fin in the open ocean prior to proceeding to the next phase of training.
Celebrating 10 Years: MARSOC's lineage is deeply rooted in personal stories of valor, both past and present. The legacy forged by the Raiders of WWII is carried on by today's Raiders that have gone forth in the wars against terrorism around the globe. Today we celebrate that legacy and the heroes that built it.
